I ♥ Thursdays {No. 3}

Here we are on Thursday, ready to link up with ~Bramblewood Fashion~ !!

This week I am loving pink dresses that have a very 1930s feel to them....

First up we have this darling dress with raised trim. It's quite simple, yet exquisite!
You can read more about it ~here~

And I was VERY pleased because Kate decided to wear a gorgeous pink dress to the Garden Party on May 29th!

Then I stumbled across this dress that would work for either everyday wear, or a more formal outing... it really reminds me of my Grandma & Great Grandma.
You can find out more about it ~here~
This next dress is actually a wedding dress & you absolutely MUST go look at ~THIS POST~ !!!! It is just so gorgeous! ♥
This dress isn't so Vintage, but it looks quite comfortable~ I am told Maxi dresses are. I like the simplicity of this one... the top could be a wee bit looser, but it still is pretty.
You can find out more about it ~here~

Which one is your favorite???

A Gold Bracelet

I wanted to wear a pretty gold bracelet when I get a chance to model my ball gown & when I saw this one, I just fell in love.
So I paid a bit more than I usually would~ $7.00. That was a sale price, though, so originally it was around $12.00.

Gold Sandals

These are the gold shoes I found to go with my ball gown!
I paid $5.00 at a second hand store.

They are a little bit worn, but for the one day, they will do. Sadly, there is a possibility we won't be in the parade after all, so I may not have an occasion to wear my gown to. :( Still I will definitely get all dolled up & pose for photos as soon as everything is green & pretty!

New To My Collection

This week I am just loading you with "new to my collection" posts.... lol
But it has been a long time since I've done so! And finding time to blog is getting harder, so I usually just end up doing posts on my personal blog!
Anyways, today's necklace is one I couldn't resist when I saw it.... very classy feel...

Would you wear it???

I ♥ Thursdays, {No. 2}

This week I am in love with all things red...

I literally **gasped** when I saw this coat in a VTC catalogue!
What a beautiful winter jacket this would make!
You can read more about it ~here~
These boots are rather darling... not usually the type I would wear, but I had an image of them being worn to a Christmas Eve party, along with a pretty brown dress, & I had second thoughts about whether I liked them or not. *smiles*
I tried to find out where you could buy them, but found nothing.
Next we have this feminine ruffled scarf. It's something I would probably buy my Mom. Perhaps not in such a vibrant color, but the style could be country or city, depending on how it was worn.
Even though it's sold, you can view more about it ~here~ or perhaps find other ones like it in this shoppe!
When I was browsing through red heart necklaces, I was actually looking for just a simple red gem heart.... until I saw this one..... oooooooohhhhhhlllllaaaaaallllaaaaaa........ ♥
A little out of my price range, but you can view it ~here~.
And one last pretty red item.... a necklace to add just splash of color to that simple outfit...
The store it came from no longer has it in stock & there is no link to a page with details about it, so you will just have to enjoy looking at it. Or perhaps you can make one like it!

Don't forget to head on over to Bramblewood Fashion & link up to take part in "I ♥ Thursdays"!

Vintage Curly Updo {guest post by Amelia}

Hello Friends!
Today I'm going to take the time to show you how to do a vintage style curly updo. :)
Thanks, Bekah, for inviting me to share!

Step One: Gather Supplies
for this hairstyle:
- 3/4 " or similar curling hot iron
- hairbrush
- finetooth comb
- sufficient bobby pins (large & small)
- hairspray
- full water bottle
- hair flower

Step 2: Part your hair on one side or the other, or right down the middle.

Step 3: Part your hair down the line directly to your ear.

Step 4: Repeat step 3 on opposite side.

Step 5: Pull front portions on either side, and pull the back away from the front.

Step 6: {optional step} clip the front together to prevent mixing

Step 7: Dampen back portion of hair for easy manipulation

Step 8: Comb smooth.

Step 9: Separate back hair into three portions to begin a large braid.  Roll in side braid portions to the back to begin the braid.

Step 10: Continue braiding...

Step 11: Tie the end of the braid tightly with the a band.

Step 12: Twist braid up and fold banded bottom under.  Hold securely.

Step 13: Pin securely into place

Step 14: Curl front portions into ringlets.

Step 15: Pin ringlets above and to the sides of the braided updo.

Step 16: Add flower to the top or side of your curls...
tip: I usually use the flower to hide excess bobby pins.

**Ta-da you're finished!  It's that easy!!!**

Going Out For Coffee

I thought I'd create an outfit using photos I picked up various places online....
Something that would be perfect for that trip to the local coffee shoppe with a friend....

I had a hard time finding a nice orange top that wasn't neon orange! lol But I thought this one was rather cute & would look more classy.

I'd probably make the skirt a wee bit looser at the top, depending on how it fits on the gal wearing it... but it's a very feminine style.
Flats were just the perfect thing for this outfit & suede would be a nice touch. Which pair do you like better?
To dress up the top a bit more, try wearing a silk scarf! And this one is beautiful!
A fine dainty bracelet with gold trimmings would be a lovely touch...
And if you must have a ring, keep it simple. You don't want to overpower the outfit! A little tip here~ I hate it when I see mostly gold jewelry, then all of a sudden, a piece of silver... go with one or the other... all gold, or all silver....
As for your hairstyle, I love Kate's look. (surprise! lol) Loose, flowing, curls always look pretty! And doing your make-up Kate's style is lovely too~ keep it natural! Enhance, don't change!!
